About the job
At Twilio, our mission is to power the future of communications. We are growing fast and looking for a Software Development Engineer in Test to join our globally distributed Flex R&D organization, on our UI team based in London, UK. 

Twilio Flex is a fully programmable cloud contact center platform that enables mission critical customer communications for businesses such as Lyft, Shopify, Nike and many others.

Our modern UI enables several personas to get more done, through a single easy to use workspace living in the browser. 

We are looking for a motivated individual to help us to take Quality to the next level.

Responsibilities
In this role, you’ll:

  • Work with the agile team to contribute to the overall quality of the product 
  • Write automated test scenarios
  • Write acceptance criteria and test cases
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders from Twilio’s R&D teams
  • Help troubleshooting issues and production escalation 
  • Maintain test suites and dashboards
  • Advocate for code quality and contribute to define quality standards and practices

Qualifications

Required:

  • 4+ years of software development and/or testing experiences
  • Proficiency in modern development languages such as Java, Python, Javascript, Typescript
  • Experience with modern testing frameworks such as Cypress, Selenium, etc
  • Expert in Quality Assurance testing techniques
  • Proficiency in writing automation test suites as well as performing manual testing
  • Strong communication skills: in person, on paper, or in code. You can explain technical concepts to product managers, other engineers, and support
  • Passion for code quality, making things better and can-do attitude

Desired:

  • Proficiency in Typescript and Cypress.io
  • Experience in coaching engineers on testing best practices
  • Experience with implementing and maintaining CI/CD test pipelines using tools like Jenkins/CircleCI or similar
  • Experience with AWS, containers and virtualization tools
  • Champion of good engineering habits: development techniques, security, tech debt balance
  • Experience with Agile software development approaches

Location 
This role is based in our beautiful office in SoHo square, central London, UK.
