EFTPOS & Banking for Australian Businesses

Who we are

Tyro is Australia’s largest fintech and one of the newest banks. We’re giving the business banking world a good shake up, with smart technology that save Australian businesses time and money.
We’re born different.
We don’t follow the easy path, we blaze our own unique trail.
And we want like-minded people who understand where we’re coming from and where we’re going.
When it comes to banks, lots of them say they’re different.
But Tyro really is different. We don’t do mortgages, personal loans, or investments. We’re all about business.
We may be new, but what we lack in heritage, we make up for with relentless determination and a focus on the future.
Our singular goal is to make life better for business owners with superior products and services that are simple and seamless so our customers, and our people, can keep blazing our own unique trail.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead and assist with security incident investigations in our corporate and banking environments.
  • Monitor systems and logs as well as hunt for security anomalies.
  • Develop, operate and automate our security incident handling procedures and processes.
  • Continually hone your skills with periodic drills and by participating in and sharing information in team learning sessions.
  • Build, maintain and continuously improve our technical controls which help us detect and respond to security incidents.
  • Continually measure the team and your outcomes to help determine and prioritise the next improvements to make.
  • Work five days a week during business hours. Some after hours work may be required during an incident.

What we're looking for:

  • Has 3+ years experience in a security incident handling role with experience in at least two of the following platforms: Linux, Microsoft Windows and MacOS.
  • Has a strong foundation in network, system, and infrastructure security.
  • Reverse engineering and/or malware analysis experience.
  • Coding/scripting skills in a high level language (e.g. Python, Ruby, ...).
  • Demonstrates outstanding all-round communication skills (both spoken and written).
  • Understands that not everything is technical and that the processes and people are just as important.
  • Loves learning and sharing their knowledge with the team.
  • Works well in a team but can manage their own tasks and doesn't need others to tell them what needs doing.
  • Prior system administration experience especially with security systems (e.g. SIEM infrastructure).
