The Senior Full Stack Engineer will be part of the Machine Intelligence & Analytics group, within the Software Engineering department. This team works closely with all other engineering teams to design and develop web-based tools and automation to enable the design, analysis, and live Command and Control operations of the Virgin Hyperloop Transportation System.  You will work closely with the rest of the Software Engineering department to integrate, test, and analyze key algorithms enabling a Grade of Automation 4+ transportation system.

Ultimately, you will help design reliable, scalable, real-time (or near-real time) applications that make Virgin Hyperloop a reality. We are seeking candidates with various levels of experience to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals at our Los Angeles facility.


Development & Design

  • Build secure, stable and performant solutions for web and mobile platforms.
  • Code custom modules, libraries, applications and web service integrations.
  • Develop both front and back-end software including but not limited to using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, PostgresDB, React, Python.
  • Design front-end user experiences and debug cross browser compatibility issues.
  • Design, write, and execute SQL databases.
  • Roll out new sites and services smoothly and securely into production.
  • Research new products and services, to identify effective solutions.

Operational Duties

  • Troubleshoot application and site issues including 3rd party modules and patches.
  • Monitor and test application performance and provide performance and usage statistics and reports.
  • Recommend, schedule, and perform site improvements, software upgrades, and repairs.
  • Implement security best practices throughout all code and systems.
  • Adhere to Agile and waterfall methodologies.
  • Collaborate in a fast-changing environment and communicate clearly and effectively with colleagues who range from data scientists, data engineers, developers, DevOps, hardware engineers, and product managers.


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent working experience.
  • 4+ years’ experience in developing and maintaining web applications and services.
  • 2+ years’ experience with React & Redux or similar framework
  • Strong in Python
  • Experience with SQL/databases
  • Strong Experience with version control (Git, SVN, etc.)
  • Strong understanding of responsive design, web UI/UX.
  • Experience with test frameworks
  • Experience with deployment tools (Docker) and strategies.
  • Experience with cloud based microservice architecture, development, and deployment.
  • Agile, fast prototyping skills, including feature integration during all cycles of development.
  • Working proficiency and excellent communication skills in verbal and written English.


  • Experience designing and developing responsive web applications for mobile devices
  • Experience handling application delivery end to end including gathering requirements, managing resources and tasks and complete deployment is a plus.
  • Strong understanding of Docker, Kubernetes, or Virtualized environments
  • Knowledge of Cloud Service Technologies. (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
  • Advanced knowledge of HTML, CSS/SCSS, JS and other web-related letter combinations
