The Director, Product Management, Alternate Payments is responsible for managing the engagement with key strategic partners/clients and roadmap/capabilities to adequately support. The role requires deep client interaction, a consultative approach and ability to prioritize/make tradeoffs. To be successful in the role, the candidate must be comfortable in working with senior management in financial institutions, and understanding the complexities, funds flow, roles and responsibilities for settlement, and respective regulatory requirements of each stakeholder for alternate payments. The role requires a global mindset and knowledge of local payment methods in various regions.
Own all engagement with key strategic partners, clients and cross-functional stakeholders to accelerate the alternate payments business
Balance requirements across partner, market and client asks and manage expectations accordingly
Contribute to overall strategy and roadmap for alternative payments
Collaborate with key internal functional teams to develop product requirements to support partner/client roadmaps
Orchestrate/collaborate on joint roadmaps and product development with partner teams, write product/business requirements and follow through to successful launches
Perform User Acceptance Testing and ensure requirements were understood/implemented
Actively prioritize the product backlog; participate in pre-planning, prioritization and user story mapping sessions
The ideal candidate will have a strong consulting background with expertise in local payment methods across the world
10 years of work experience with a Bachelors Degree; 10 years of work experience with Masters/MBA/JD/MD; or a minimum of 5 years of work experience with a PhD
12-15 years in product management, preferably in payments products
Deep comfort in working with senior clients and/or partners and excellent presentation skills
Exceptional business acumen and ability to develop and execute a multi-year product roadmap with multiple workstreams
Deep knowledge of payments processing, local payments and regional nuances
Ability to problem solve in a fast-paced environment, manage customer and partner expectations and negotiate/influence internal and external stakeholders at all levels
Ability to coordinate complex cross-functional teams including technical and non-technical resources
Demonstrated ability to drive product vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution
Strong results-oriented leader; analytic and fact-based discipline
Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible, with excellent presentation skills, including strong oral and writing capabilities
- Ability to take ownership of complex, multi-faceted, open-ended problems and drive them to completion. Comfortable working with ambiguity.
Able to work independently in a matrixed environment
MBA or equivalent work experience preferred
- This position will be performed in an office setting. The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers, and reach with hands and arms
This position requires the incumbent to travel for work 20% of the time.
