This Director role is an exciting opportunity to make an important impact at Visa by supporting the strategy, planning, and operations for the People organization. This includes managing the implementation of the People organization’s annual planning process, delivering content for a quarterly People operational review, provide support developing engagement strategy and executing key People Team’s initiatives and engagement and enablement plans. This role reports into the Senior Director, People Strategy, Planning & Operations.

The successful candidate will have terrific project management skills, will be detailed oriented, with the ability to manage across multiple stakeholders and priorities. He/she will also be an exceptional communicator and strategic thinker with strong analytical, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

The position is based in Visa’s San Francisco office. Occasional travel to Visa’s Foster City office is also required.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

There are three areas of responsibilities for this role:

People Team Reporting & Presentations   

  • Partner with the Senior Director People Strategy, Planning & operations and Finance to drive the annual planning and goal setting process that will guide prioritization and resource allocation.

  • Manage content for quarterly operational reviews and scorecards for the People Leadership Team highlighting progress and identifying risks to the plan in order to drive greater effectiveness.

  • Design and implement reporting templates, including dashboard to track progress against People Team KPIs, and CEO briefing documents.

  • Develop Chief People Officer presentations for the CEO and Executive Committee.

People Team Communications and Engagement

  • Develop, manage, and maintain integrated calendar for People functional team communications, engagement and L&D/training program, and evolve approach based on feedback from People community.

  • Source and develop content and presentations for the People Team communications, including facilitating necessary stakeholder approvals.

  • Manage all details and logistics for People Team events including All Staffs and speakers’ series, liaising with key partners and speakers as needed.

  • Manage knowledge management and content strategy for key communications channels (Microsoft Teams, Yammer, etc.).

People Enablement and Knowledge Sharing

  • Develop strong understanding of the priorities of all People functional teams to inform best way to share knowledge across People organization.

  • Partner with the Senior Director People Strategy, Planning & operations to define go-to-market programs to support key People initiatives and develop an engagement strategy to support a high functioning People team, partnering closely with COEs

  • Develop presentations to support stakeholder management within and across the business and People Team, including presentation to the People Leadership team and business partners

Lead key People Team cross functional projects including defining, managing and embedding new processes in support of the People Team functions


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:
• 7-12 years of work experience with a bachelor’s degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
• Prior experience in Business Operations or People Operations role, and payments industry experience helpful.
• Highly organized with strong project management skills, and very detail oriented.
• Strong written and verbal communication skill with storytelling orientation.
• Strong Excel (including formulas) and PowerPoint skills.
• Outstanding problem-solving skills, able to multi-task and manage competing priorities.
• Intellectually curious about the payments industry and the People Team.
• Business maturity to deal appropriately with sensitive and confidential information.
• Ability to influence others, e.g., cross-functional stakeholders and leaders.
• Composure and clarity required to interact with cross-functional teams, senior management, and executives.
• Capability to work with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment, to drive linear, fact-based insights, recommendations, and solutions.
• Passionate about making things better, e.g., improving processes, reducing/removing inefficiencies.
• Team-oriented, collaborative, and diplomatic.

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.
