Social Media Manager

Visa, Austin TX, US

Everywhere you want to be

Duration: Full-Time

Visa is seeking an upbeat, challenge-the-status-quo Social Media Manager who understands the art and science behind digital experiences. The ideal candidate is a team player, problem solver, and idea generator with a firm understanding of how to create digital moments that people remember and love. The role will sit in the Cybersource division of Visa, a global payments management platform.

The Social Media Manager role will support global social media efforts across Cybersource and Authorize.net social channels (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Instagram) and blogs, ensuring high quality execution with analytical follow-up and follow-through. This person should be willing to smartly get to a net end goal of building our brand awareness, engagement, affinity, and recall. The right candidate understands the power of pictures to convey a narrative, and can do so in a concise way. You’ve mastered the art of “short form” and know how to say a lot in very little space. This role will help define, establish and communicate channel governance—what we publish, why, when, how, and which channels are most appropriate as well as keeping stakeholders informed and educated on performance and best practice. You’ll be our social brand steward to make sure only the highest quality and on-brand material makes the cut. Our social presence should be bold, relevant, and cut through the noise in today’s world of content and creative inundation. Cybersource is focused on innovation and we only want innovative minds and A+ players.

This role will support product marketing, field marketing, strategic communications, partner marketing, and the team it sits on (Brand & Digital). You will roll up your sleeves and get right to work supporting our multi-year reputation and demand gen campaign and changing the way we engage with our customers as we lean digital-first. You’ll have the ability to be part of something interesting where you will see your direct impact rather than being just another cog in the wheel.

This role reports to the Sr. Director, Brand and Digital for Cybersource.

This position will be responsible for:

  • Executing best-in-class social media programs on a daily basis, increasing engagement, measuring progress, while constantly challenging the status quo to think about bigger opportunities to grow our channels.
  • Supporting thought leadership strategies and activations.
  • Writing content that considers customer interests and pain points, industry trends, and SEO.
  • Creating multi-media experiences to pair with our copy. Experience with the Adobe creative suite is a plus.
  • Evaluating results and drawing out insights from organic and paid social analytics as well as social listening.
  • Ensuring all global social execution is world class. Mediocre work should never make it through the gate. And off-brand material should not be allowed to make it even close to the gate.
  • Immediately rolling up your sleeves, learning the business, asking questions and then bringing a fresh perspective to our social media program.
  • Executing our story in all social activations – we keep people at the heart of our business. Our customers are the heroes and we are the supporting characters. This should always shine through in our content.
  • Mapping social execution to intended campaign and business outcomes. What did we learn, what did we conclude, and what will we do about it?
  • Supporting our advocacy programs. You’ll help both our customers and employees shine. Executive and social selling program experience is a plus, especially in our current social distancing world.
  • Acting as a customer support liaison, ensuring that our customers get the support they need quickly and warmly.
  • Supporting social media governance activities across the board. Structure is our friend in this case.
  • Managing stakeholders and creating alignment in strategy and direction.
  • This is a global support role – working with EMEA, AP, LAC and NA markets.
