New Payment Flows (NPF) core function is to collect new sources of money movement through card and non-card flows. We include Visa Business Solutions, Government Solutions and Visa Direct, which presents an enormous growth opportunity. The Visa Business Solutions (VBS) and Visa Government Solutions (VGS) teams are an elite technology organization experiencing tremendous, double-digit growth as we expand products into new payment flows and continue to grow our core card solutions. This position is ideal for an experienced individual who is passionate about collaborating with business and technology partners in solving complex business problems. You will be a key driver in the effort to define the shared strategic vision of VBS.

A successful candidate is a high impact leader with strong technical product management background. A key focal point is understanding requirements from clients and defining a strategy towards seamless delivery. You will need to meet client expectations and demonstrate experience in leading products and services that have created business value and delivered impact within the payment domain or similar industries.

Successful candidates will be skilled at forging positive relationships with business sponsors, product owners, architects, and developers to define feature sets, story maps, detailed user stories (functional and non-functional) to support the development process. Beyond the design and planning stages of the development lifecycle, this role works closely with the development teams to communicate requirements for execution and implementation.

This role will also partner with the cross-functional leadership team to help define the roadmap priorities and ensure that it remains aligned with the broader strategic priorities.

Job Description and Responsibilities

Accountabilities - General:

  • Technical product management functions including functional specs, roadmap, issue/risk management, and definition of success criteria for pilots and production launch
  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Business owners, Architects, Analysts, Engineers, Program Managers, and others) in the creation of solutions for complex, global business problems.
  • Build a strong partnership with business owners and contribute to the definition and evolution of business strategy, goals, roadmap, and objectives.
  • Envision being in the customer's (internal and external) seat while partnering with the engineering team- deep passion for satisfying customer needs and influencing design and priority appropriately.
  • Work with architects and leads in evolving technology roadmaps for applications and systems within the Payments domain and ensuring alignment with business and enterprise strategies.
  • Participate in solution design reviews to provide guidance on functional requirements, product designs, schedules, or potential problems.
  • Participate in end-to-end verification of new solutions to ensure they meet and exceed business expectations.
  • Identify accurate service metrics and measurements for ensuring performance against Service Level Agreements
  • Apply creative thinking/approach to determine solutions that further Business Goals and align with Technology Strategies

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 or more years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 8 years of work experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters/ MBA/JD/MD) or at least 3 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 12-15 years of work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or 8-10 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 6+ years of work experience with a PhD
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent
  • 12+ years of proven experience (with at least 7+ years of core Product Management experience) within a technology environment.
  • Track record of successfully delivering complex software systems or services.
  • Experience working in the Payments space.
  • Outstanding collaboration and partnership skills with the ability to work in a global environment and drive consensus in cross-functional teams.
  • Use excellent communication skills to connect with a diverse customer audience, executives, product, and technology stakeholders.
  • Solid intuition towards business.
  • Fast learner on both technical and business side.
  • Is proactive and operates with a sense of urgency and 'can do' attitude.
  • Strategic problem solver who can balance big picture strategy with detailed, perfect execution.
  • Ability to stay organized while handling competing priorities.
  • Extensive hands-on experience with developing technical roadmaps, story outlines, writing user stories, grooming product backlogs and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast paced, constantly evolving environment.
  • Strong analytical skills with excellent problem solving ability.
  • Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making at all levels of the organization without formal reporting structure authority
