The Account Manager serves an integral role in securing, maintaining and growing Vox Advertising revenue through superior proposal development, campaign management and customer service. As a pre-sale product expert and the primary post-sale point of contact for campaign execution and optimization, the position is ultimately responsible for representing client needs and goals to ensure optimal performance and client satisfaction.

Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Utilize product and vertical expertise to advise Sales in the development of compelling, cross-platform media plans and pitch decks in response to RFPs that tell the Vox Media story, educate advertisers on our audience and detail how we’ll deliver on campaign objectives.
  • Collaborate and coordinate with Creative Strategy to develop robust and customized branded content and product integration opportunities.
  • Project-manage cross-team timelines to ensure timely completion and delivery of proposals and media plans.


  • Serve as the primary post-sale point of contact for campaign execution of all pending and live campaigns.
  • Provide superior customer service through professional and attentive support to all internal and external client inquiries.
  • Act as the internal authority in understanding and advising internal support teams on all aspects and intricacies of clients’ campaigns.
  • Coordinate and lead internal and external campaign kick-off calls to establish campaign timelines, deliverables and success metrics.
  • Project-manage cross-team timelines to ensure campaigns launch on time and as contracted.
  • Manage cross-platform media programs to achieve or exceed performance expectations.
  • Proactively identify under-delivery and performance opportunities and provide client suggestions for campaign improvement and optimization.
  • Proactively communicate with client and internal departments regarding live campaigns to address any concerns.
  • Review and analyze weekly delivery reports to ensure all placements are on track to deliver in full and as contracted  so that all revenue may be appropriately recognized.
  • Manage  internal and external client approvals to process optimizations, revisions, make-goods, cancellations and renewals.
  • Act as a Vox Media product and process expert and attend in-person and virtual client meetings as needed to answer execution and optimization questions.


  • Champion strategic business initiatives.
  • Be a brand champion and strengthen company culture.


  • BS/BA in Advertising, Marketing, Business, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years in digital advertising, preferably from an agency or publisher
  • Knowledge of the digital sales process and a background in media planning
  • Demonstrated, superior customer service in a client-facing role
  • Superior organizational and project management skills
  • A passion for online media and journalism/storytelling
  • Proficient in Excel and PPT
  • History using Doubleclick for Publishers is preferred

  • History using Doubleclick for Publishers is preferred
  • Experience with Operative
  • Experience fulfilling native advertising products
  • Proven success optimizing performance of complex branded content and other advertising programs
