Vroom is seeking a hands-on HR professional that can be a strategic partner to our Tech and Product teams in their pursuit of reaching key business objectives.  The HR Business Partner will support the full life cycle of HR process for their teams in addition to change management, coaching, and development. The role is critical in building a positive, performance-oriented culture through thought leadership and functional excellence.  

Responsibilities

  • Partner closely with line and functional leadership to prioritize and manage all aspects of leadership and development for the business units.  Includes oversight of all HR processes such as goal setting, development planning and performance appraisal, etc.
  • Provide direct coaching on people management & organizational issues including organizational design, change management, team building, and overall effectiveness
  • Work alongside client groups to define workforce strategy and operational plans.  Liaise with other functions such as finance, recruitment, and facilities to ensure alignment across organizational stakeholders
  • Monitor culture through employee discussions, exit interviews, manager feedback, employee survey results, turnover analysis, etc. and suggest changes to improve results
  • Identify critical skill sets within the client group, nurture talent development, recruit and train for gaps, and ensure broad support for talent development overall
  • Partner with other HR leaders to ideate and improve key HR programs
  • Provide consultative guidance and coaching to managers and employees on human resources-related matters including policy interpretation and enforcement, ensuring alignment with corporate policies, goals, and objectives
  • Support and administration of processes such as training, coaching, and compliance monitoring
  • Provide leadership and provide guidance on functional matters such as compensation design and performance management, etc.
  • Manage and resolve complex employee relations issues by conducting effective, thorough and objective investigations
  • Ability to resolve disputes with empathy and professionalism resulting in minimal business disruption

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field, Master’s degree preferred
  • 8+ years of progressively responsible human resources experience, including at least 2 in a business partner role. Experience with engineering / product development teams strongly preferred
  • Breadth of knowledge on HR practices, procedures and HR laws and regulations
  • Demonstrate the ability to support and lead change as a champion for new initiatives and a coach for managers who are leading their teams through change
  • Understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements in business objectives, productivity and development of HR within the company
  • Enthusiastically embrace a high-volume workload, managing multiple tasks and priorities in a “roll up your sleeves” environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a rapidly evolving environment
  • Readiness to quickly build credibility and exert strong influence on key constituents
  • Ability to develop relationships as a trusted advisor and coach
  • High degree of business acumen; must understand the fundamentals of business
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Limited travel is required
