Vroom is seeking a Head of Talent Acquisition to attract the best talent to drive Vroom’s growth. Ultimately, you’ll help us find and recruit the people that will build and support the world’s premier platform to research, discover, buy, and sell cars. You will be responsible for developing and leading our talent acquisition strategy and executing on it. Leading a team of eight talent acquisition professionals, you’ll articulate a strong employment value proposition while leveraging technology, vendors, and teammates to achieve qualitative and quantitative talent goals. This position provides an opportunity to develop, build, and execute strategic recruiting programs that will have significant impact on the future of the business.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage a Talent Acquisition function that partners closely with hiring managers to achieve company-wide staffing targets
  • Adapt recruitment strategies to attract and onboard talent across a wide variety of functions, ranging from skilled automotive labor to data and technology to corporate and service roles
  • Supervise, motivate and develop a team of TA professionals that will successfully build relationships with candidates and hiring managers while continuously raising the talent bar across the organization
  • Lead efforts to ensure a qualified and diverse candidate pool is presented to the organization
  • Provide guidance and direction to managers across the organization to enhance candidate experience, selection, and onboarding
  • Build and implement operational efficiencies and practices that drive strong performance across all recruitment related metrics, including Time to Fill, Quality of Hire, Cost Per Hire and Source Effectiveness
  • Develop comprehensive reporting mechanisms to communicate overall performance to executive team, hiring managers, and TA team
  • Manage ongoing communication strategies internally to drive program adoption, help facilitate hiring manager recruitment ownership and participation, and provide training and best practices
  • Measure and monitor the effectiveness of the talent acquisition function including routine and ad hoc reporting of key recruiting metrics
  • Act as primary administrator of all immigration practices including new hire visa support and current employee extensions and changes
  • Collaborate with leadership and finance to build and track a comprehensive staffing plan
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to establish and implement a social media/recruitment marketing strategy based on Vroom’s employee value proposition
  • Support and lead temporary labor/contingent workforce strategies and programs, including vendor management of outsourced suppliers
  • Use competitive intelligence, analytics & metrics to build a more strategic approach to resourcing, achieving greater value from sourcing channels
  • Partner closely with marketing and technology teams to ensure the highest quality expression of the Vroom employment brand throughout all channels
  • Ensure current processes and procedures are compliant with all international, federal, state, local requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, finance, business, or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant Talent Acquisition/HR experience
  • Minimum of 5 years leadership and management experience
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and operational execution skills with a high degree of attention to detail and process
  • Strong cross functional partnership skills, working with multiple stakeholders to achieve company objectives
  • Proven ability to build strong, trustworthy, productive relationships across the business
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex issues to a range of audiences
  • High professional standards for customer service, confidentiality, and quality of work
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, high-pressure environment
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities
  • Strong problem-solving, critical thinking, and analytical skills
  • Strong client service orientation
