Vroom is looking for an Accounting Manager to assist in the accounting and establishing policies and procedures for newly formed entities. In addition, you will be assisting in accounting operations system implementations to support accounting scalability. This is the perfect position for an individual with public accounting and private industry experience who is interested in being part of the continued growth of Vroom’s accounting organization.

Responsibilities

Oversee and manage general accounting functions, including, but not limited to: accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and taxes
Support quarterly and year-end financial audit activities and the annual corporate financial controls audit
Assess current practices and procedures, and make recommendations for improvements
Develop staff by managing performance, setting goals, providing ongoing training, and maintaining strong employee relationships
Develop optimal procedures and best practices. Identify process and control improvement opportunities and work with management and peers to implement appropriate changes
Ensure data integrity resulting in a single source of truth for all financial information provided by our organization both internally and externally
Maintain a solid understanding of accounting policies and stay current on changes in GAAP
Perform ad hoc analysis and projects as requested

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Big 4 experience preferred
Must have Management Experience
5+ plus years experience in Accounting field with a blend of public accounting and private industry experience
Knowledge of finance and accounting, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles
Knowledge of automated financial and accounting reporting systems
Strong knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Ability to present results and business insights to various stakeholders in a clear, concise manner
Highly resourceful problem solver and fast learner
Ability to take on, and succeed with, a diverse array of projects that require varying skills and approaches
Ability to carry out tasks autonomously and collaboratively
Ability to meet deadlines under pressure, commitment to timely task completion a must
