The Flatiron School is seeking a Sales Manager, Employer Partnerships to join our rapidly growing Career Services team!
At Flatiron School, we teach software engineering, data science, and UI/UX skills to passionate, curious people, and help them launch new careers in technology. Our Career Services team is responsible for ensuring our graduates can navigate their program successfully while they’re here, and the job market successfully after graduation. As part of that team, our Employer Partnerships (EP) function creates, maintains, and deepens relationships with hundreds of employers across the country, giving them access to the best-fit graduates for their teams — in the right places, and at the right times.
Our Sales Managers are responsible for overseeing teams of Employer Partnerships (EP) Account Execs, who create and maintain our employer relationships in each market. This Sales Manager will be based in Denver, and oversee several EP Account Execs focused on the San Francisco and Los Angeles markets. In this position, you will have the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the rapid growth of our organization by facilitating the expansion of our team globally, by helping companies staff their teams to accomplish their own missions, and by helping students achieve their goals of starting new careers.
A successful Sales Manager, Employer Partnerships is passionate about coaching and inspiring his or her team, about consultative sales and account management, and about providing exceptional service to our employer partners.
The Sales Manager, Employer Partnerships will:
Lead the hiring and onboarding process for EP Account Execs including interviewing, making offers to and onboarding prospective candidates.
Provide ongoing coaching, training, and feedback to a team of EP Account Execs, with an eye towards consistently achieving our job placement goals in a way that’s aligned with our values.
Roll up your sleeves and talk to our clients: Accompany your team on sales calls and meetings; partner with your team on effective outreach, follow-up communications; coach and help create presentation collateral; attend meetups and events with your team to identify and model productive networking and prospecting practices.
Identify and execute strategies to make your team more effective. Sales Managers are responsible for identifying patterns and opportunities across their teams, and creating and executing solutions that help make their Associates more successful. Do we need a new CRM strategy? A different territory management system? Updated collateral for startup accounts? A change in our events strategy? It’s your job to identify and execute on those opportunities.
Be responsible for the success of a team: EP Managers’ primary goal is to ensure their team of EP Account Execs hit their targets.
A successfulSales Manager, Employer Partnerships has/is:
An experienced sales manager, with at least two years of experience overseeing a quota-driven team
A passionate salesperson, with at least two years of experience managing a pipeline, and developing, cultivating, and closing sales as an individual contributor
Inspiring and motivating, coaching and pushing your team to achieve their goals
Data-driven, with experience using sales metrics to inform your decision-making. A successful Sales Manager uses data to inform team-wide strategic decisions, as well as to facilitate coaching each team member to achieve his or her goals
Scrappy and resourceful, continually identifying new and novel ways to get stuff done with limited resources
Athletic and flexible: You’re constantly asking yourself whether what we’re doing still makes sense in our fast-moving environment.
Team player who can work cross-departmentally to contextualize the EP team’s needs within the needs of the wider organization, leveraging resources from and collaborating with other departments as necessary and appropriate
