Senior Analytics Engineer

White Ops, NYC, USA

We love the internet and protect it accordingly.

At White Ops, we are all about keeping it human. We are the global leader in bot mitigation. We protect more than 200 enterprises—including the largest internet platforms—from sophisticated bots by verifying the humanity of nearly one trillion online interactions every week. The most sophisticated bots look and act like humans when they click on ads, visit websites, fill out forms, take over accounts, and commit payment fraud. We stop them.

Founded in 2012 in a Brooklyn sci-fi bookstore, our Bot Mitigation Platform protects enterprises from the sophisticated bots that threaten them. It’s an ongoing war that we fight passionately every day. Join our mission to stop bots, disrupt the economics of cybercrime, and keep it human.

The Dashboard team is responsible for presenting the world class data provided by White Ops to our customers for analysis. The team’s mission is to deliver an unparalleled business intelligence tool that puts valuable insights at our customers fingertips. You will work with several product teams to find the best ways to craft an exceptional user experience that helps White Ops stand apart in the marketplace.

By joining the Dashboard team, you will gain a deep understanding of the reporting end of our data pipeline. This team works alongside data engineers to maintain a performant reporting experience at scale (our queries often run against billions of records). The team also works with UX designers and product managers to find new ways to drive insights for our customers.

What you will do:

  • Design, build, test, and deploy a reliable and scalable reporting system backed by Looker and Snowflake
  • Work closely with data engineers and UX designers to model complex datasets that empower customers in their fight against fraud
  • Work with several product managers to translate functional requirements into technical specs and architectural decisions
  • Leverage DevOps practices and principles to build and maintain CI/CD pipelines

  • Good understanding of data warehousing solutions such as BigQuery, Redshift, and Snowflake
  • Strong communication and ability to interface with cross-functional teams
  • Strong ability to oversee large architectural decisions and guide engineers with less experience to success

These are some additional skills that the team has developed and use regularly but are not required for new hires (other than a burning desire to learn them when needed):

  • Developing models and views with LookML
  • Experience with nosql datastores such as MongoDB
  • Awareness of front-end web technologies (CSS, React, etc)
  • Awareness of back-end web technologies (RESTful APIs, CRUD-focused schema design)
