Local Business Scout - Phoenix

Do you love Phoenix and the local businesses that make it so stellar? As part of Yelp Phoenix's Local Business Scout team you’ll be tasked with going door to door to visit local businesses in select neighborhoods and getting them set up with free Yelp business user accounts. You’ll answer any questions they might have and connect them with resources as well. You will primarily work out in the field and check in weekly with Yelp’s Local Business Outreach team. You also may have a chance to assist with local events for business owners. Local business professionals are passionate about the work they do – and Yelp’s Local Business Scouts are too!

About The Job:

  • Act as a Yelp For Business Owners ambassador by visiting local businesses each day and helping them manage their free business user account on biz.yelp.com by getting them reengaged
  • Work through a specific list of businesses each week to hit your target goal of businesses logged in
  • You may also be asked to work as a brand ambassador at select business owner events
  • This is a temporary part-time role

About You:

  • Must be familiar with Yelp and how it works
  • Must be outgoing and vibrant – you enjoy face to face interaction with people
  • Must be self-motivated – you can consistently hit specific goals and targets, even when managing your own schedule
  • Must be professional – you'll be a voice of Yelp to the business community in Phoenix, so be memorable for the right reasons!
  • Must be an effective communicator – you'll be educating business owners on how best to use the Yelp for Business Owners site and Biz App

Qualifications:

  • Must reside in Phoenix
  • Must have a working personal smartphone in good condition and capable of accessing Biz.Yelp.Com and running the Yelp Biz App
  • Must have a personal computer and reliable home internet connection
  • Must have a reliable personal car for transportation
  • Age 21+

Competencies:

  • Self starter
  • Communication proficiency
  • Collaboration skills
  • Be customer and client focused
  • Comfortable using, demonstrating and explaining Yelp and Yelp products

Other Details:

  • 15 to 19 hours per week, $13/hr
  • Access to and familiarity with Google docs
  • Weekly check in and follow up with the Local Business Outreach team
