Yelp is seeking a creative and proactive Manager of Strategic Sales Analytics to work closely with our Enterprise Sales team.

As the leader in connecting people with great local businesses, Yelp works with large national clients in every category and industry. These large clients rely on Yelp’s advertising products to attract new consumers and grow their business. 

As the Manager of Strategic Sales Analytics, you will hire, manage, and grow a small team of top-notch analysts and play an important role for Yelp’s key clients, using data to drive strategic insights. Your knowledge of online media combined with your communication skills and analytical abilities will drive direct revenue impact and help Yelp’s strategic clients attract new customers and achieve even greater returns on their investments in Yelp’s advertising products. 

The Manager of Strategic Sales Analytics will be familiar with the search and local advertising sales and delivery life cycle. You will need to demonstrate direct experience managing a team of analysts and working effectively with a sales team, distilling large data sets to deliver actionable insights for key accounts. You should also be highly proficient with Excel and Powerpoint and willing and able to learn SQL and Python in addition to being highly organized and detail oriented, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to work on multiple ongoing projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate and consult with team members regarding key clients’ strategic business goals.
  • Analyze large data sets to provide team members with strategic insights for large clients and prospects.
  • Partner with Product and Data Science to build tools that automate analytical frameworks where it makes sense to do so.
  • Uncover opportunities for additional investment to help clients achieve their targets.
  • Provide evidence of alignment between a client or prospect’s target customer and Yelp Users using internal data via Tableau and 3rd party data such as comScore, Google Analytics, Nielsen, eMarketer, etc. 
  • Build Tableau dashboards to track client performance, user trends and additional Yelp insights.
  • Hire, manage, and develop a team of analysts to create solid strategic frameworks, and prepare strategic presentations for C-level audiences.
  • Build processes to ensure all documents and presentations are accurate and consistent.

Requirements:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Expert knowledge of one of the following Python, SQL and Tableau and a willingness to learn the others
  • 3-5 years experience in a relevant position in Data Analytics
  • Empathetic yet results-driven manager with 1-3 years of experience managing people.
  • Proactive, self-starter who learns quickly and thrives on getting things done.
  • Knowledge of the interactive marketplace (local, search, directory a plus).Strong work ethic and ability to multi-task – must be able to juggle multiple projects and clients.
  • Excellent team player with strong attention to detail and good time management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
