Product Manager - Core Experience

Yelp, San Francisco, CA

Connecting people with great local businesses

Yelp’s products are used by millions of people every day. At Yelp you’ll have an opportunity to make a real impact on a product you actually use. The team you’ll work with is scrappy, nimble, and fun. The culture at Yelp is a unique environment combining the best parts of being at a startup with the stability and resources of a successful public company. You’ll have full ownership of the product you’re working on and will be able make fast decisions in a highly collaborative, no-BS, no-bureaucracy environment.

As a Product Manager on our Core Experience team, you’ll focus on the parts of our app and website that are used by the vast majority of Yelpers. Namely, how people consume business information, read reviews, view photos, save places they love and anything else that touches the millions of people that discover businesses through Yelp. You’ll also work closely with our product design team to ensure that the feel and experience of Yelp keeps moving forward. It’s difficult to overstate the impact of this role.. your work will literally be seen by every user of the product!

What You Will Do:

  • Work on the team that directly impacts the critical path people follow on Yelp: landing, search, business, reading reviews and viewing photos.
  • Work closely with our design team to create intuitive, elegant mobile and web interfaces that will be used by millions of people.
  • Own your product’s destiny and create roadmaps for the team to reflect this vision.
  • Measure the performance and retention of each feature you launch and set key-result metrics for the team.
  • Move quickly. We strive for design perfection but love to release and iterate.

We Are Looking For:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management with major results under your belt
  • Strong technical background that earns you the respect of engineers
  • Passion for design and user experience: your wireframes can convey a product vision
  • Solid understanding of how to grow metrics and lots of practice running A/B tests
  • Great with data: you can run your own queries and slice & dice data to bits
  • Experience managing the development process: you know how to make things happen
  • Product planning extraordinaire: you get buy-in on your roadmaps from execs
  • All-around great leader: someone that others want to work with (versus has to)
Pursuant to the San Francisco Fair Chance Ordinance, we will consider for employment qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records.
