The Director of Service Reliability and Safety is in charge of the mobility service level fault tree, flow down fault targets to the different subsystems such as the operational design domain, tele-operations, vehicle systems, computation network, AI and safety system, appropriate for the hazards to the service.  The fault tree is the roadmap for the safety, availability and maintenance of the mobility service.

The Director of Service Reliability and Safety is also in charge of reviewing and approving the bottoms-up reliability estimates produced by the corresponding teams and establishing a validation program extending from development testing through reliability growth in service.


  • Support hazard analysis in collaboration with systems engineering
  • Support architectural trade-studies
  • Develop and own the mobility service failure modes and analysis and fault tree analysis
  • Develop subsystem reliability, availability and safety specifications 
  • Review and approve bottoms up reliability estimates and specify validation methods
  • Support mobility service level certification standards and document safety analysis accomplishments


  • Bachelors degree in aerospace or related field.  Advanced degree preferred
  • 15+ years experience in transportation field.  Commercial air transport preferred
  • Expertise in: Reliability Predictions • Hardware Failure Mode and Effects Analysis • Hardware Failure Mode, Effects and Criticality Analysis • Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis • Fault Tree Analysis • Common Mode Analysis
  • Statistical analyses for predicting life and/or failure probability including Weibull Analysis and Probabilistic Design techniques
  • Preparation of System Safety Analyses for certification
  • Physics of Failure Analysis
