This position is on the Compute Infrastructure team responsible for Zoox's application, compute, and storage infrastructure. This individual will work with other infrastructure engineers to maintain Zoox's internal infrastructure.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair CPU and GPU based compute clusters and storage
  • Independently troubleshoot and repair complex hardware issues
  • Assist with deploying Zoox's internal compute cluster
  • Contribute to documentation
  • Manage Vendor RMAs
  • Working with our vendors for installation and maintenance
  • Participate in procurement and logistic activities
  • Rack and stack activities

Qualifications

  • Meaningful experience in installing and maintaining enterprise compute hardware
  • Skilled with troubleshooting and repair of Intel-based server hardware
  • Competency to work independently with minimal supervision to maintain and repair servers in enterprise data center environments
  • Familiarity with ticket management processes
  • Can lift 50 lbs to waist height, 25 lbs to shoulder height
  • Ability and willingness to work after-hours and weekends as needed to meet project delivery deadlines
  • Ability and willingness to participate in on-call rotation for dispatch to data centers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English

Bonus Qualifications

  • Exposure to SuperMicro servers
  • Exposure to GPU computing platforms
  • Basic understanding of RAID, IPv4, and IPMI/OOB
  • Basic Linux system administration skills
  • Ability to follow and contribute to production checklists
