As the Employee Relations Manager, you will provide guidance, support and make recommendations to resolve employee relations concerns while supporting Zoox’s overall People & Culture strategy. You will conduct investigations into employee relations concerns and support overall positive employee engagement. The right person understands the core values of our culture, has experience solving people and employment-related issues, and can pivot quickly. You should also be data driven and through a combination of intelligence, experience, and information can drive systemic improvements over time.
Foster effective, collaborative relationships with HR teams and business leaders
Participate in the research, creation, and implementation of employee relations policies and procedures
Help create trainings on compliance with HR policies and procedures
Assist in initiating and conducting investigations in response to a range of employee relations concerns
Use effective interviewing and documentation techniques, including maintaining complete and accurate records of investigations
Communicate with key partners regarding pending investigations and ensure investigations are completed in a timely manner
Develop recommendations based on investigation findings for appropriate remediation or other corrective action
Analyze employee relations metrics and trends with business leaders and HR teams and help develop proactive strategies, solutions, programs and policies
Partner with internal and external legal counsel on all of the above
Bachelor’s Degree and/or 5 years’ experience in employee relations, investigations, employment law, and disciplinary actions
Working knowledge of federal, state and local laws that govern employment policies and practices
Ability to build strong working relationships across all levels of the organization, including remote areas
Excellent planning, organization and time management skills, attention to detail, ability to handle multiple tasks, and work in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills—must be an articulate and persuasive communicator
Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and emotional issues
